No CAGE / NCAGE Needed for SAM.gov -- Do You Meet The Criteria?

New entities registering in SAM.gov are no longer required to obtain a Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) or NCAGE code during SAM.gov registration if they meet both of the following criteria:

1) the entity's purpose of registration is Financial Assistance Awards Only, and

2) the entity indicates during registration that it is not seeking financial assistance from the Department of Defense (DoD).

New entities still need a CAGE or NCAGE code if the purpose of registration is "All Awards" (i.e., contracts AND grants) or the entity is seeking financial assistance from DoD. New registrants receive their CAGE code as part of the SAM.gov registration process. NCAGE codes are received after completing a request with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) at: https://lnkd.in/gq758nER. International entities should get their NCAGE before starting the SAM registration process.

International entities not seeking financial assistance from DoD also no longer need to apply for and obtain an NCAGE from NSPA prior to registering in SAM.gov.
